We have been providing comprehensive small animal veterinarian care to the Traverse City neighborhood since the 1950s. Our goal is to give our clients and their cherished animal companions the most thorough, sensitive, and individualized treatment possible. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care. They are friendly and well-trained. As your pet ages, our services are intended to offer early disease identification and treatment in addition to normal preventative care for young, healthy pets. In 1977, Oakwood Veterinary Hospital was established. We have served the Traverse City region for more for 40 years, and we are proud of it. Our team of highly qualified veterinarians and animal healthcare specialists is committed to offering you and your pets the best veterinary care in the region. Oakwood recently relocated to Aero Park Drive from our previous location on Hastings Street. In order to provide you and your precious dogs more room, to enable our team to work more productively, and to better serve you as pet owners, Oakwood erected a new 6,400 square foot facility.

Our team is composed of two seasoned veterinarians and two certified veterinary technicians, and we have a high staff-to-patient ratio.

In Traverse City and the surrounding area, we are happy to offer a wide range of veterinary treatments for pets. Our team is committed to giving your dogs the very best care. Only 15% of small animal hospitals receive this certification from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), which we proudly hold. You may read more about the requirements the AAHA has for its members here. We have an on-site x-ray machine and a complete laboratory at our facilities. This enables our doctors to identify and address the majority of issues as quickly as possible. In the event that your pet requires a referral for expert care, we also keep good contacts with area specialists.
