East Ventura Animal Hospital, founded in 1981, is a full-service veterinarian clinic in Ventura, California. Our veterinary clinic specializes in the prevention and treatment of diseases in pets such as reptiles, birds, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents (rats, hamsters, gerbils, and more). Our veterinarians try to provide the best veterinary treatment for dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, and pocket pets (guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, and mice!) at The Animal Doctor. The American Animal Hospital Association is a member of our practice (AAHA). AAHA Member Facilities must first voluntarily achieve the association's highly stringent requirements for both the facility and the professional treatment provided by their doctors and employees.

Our competent, compassionate veterinarians and board-certified specialists at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group (VMSG) in Ventura work as an extension of your primary care veterinarian. We collaborate to provide California pets with high-quality specialist and emergency veterinarian treatment.

On August 1, 2018, Horizon Veterinary Specialists opened its doors. Five local board-certified veterinary professionals in respective disciplines created us. Horizon Veterinary Specialists is available for small animal specialty and emergency veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our hospital serves the counties of Ventura and Santa Barbara, as well as the surrounding areas.

Dr. Sarah Gray and Dr. Nancy Scott, both well-known Criticalists, are both board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. In late 2016, they co-founded Emergency Veterinary Care (EVC), a Ventura after-hours emergency hospital. Dr. Mary Ellen McLoughlin, a highly experienced Emergency Veterinarian, joined them at first. Soon after, Drs. Amy Rhoades, Melissa Herrera, and Theresa Ortega, all board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, joined the practice.
