Riverview Park

A 571-acre recreation park with miles of mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding trails.

Azalea Park is a 23-acre piece of level land off Old Lynchburg Road near Interstate 64 on the city's southern outskirts. In 1965, the City purchased the land from the Bellmead Corporation in two separate transactions. The park is separated from the neighboring homes by trees and natural barriers on the north side of the site. Moore's Creek, which runs the length of the park and adds to Azalea's unique appeal, is located on the park's south side.

Canoe launch, sporting grounds and courts, playground, off-leash dog area, and trails are all available at this county park.

Greenbrier Park is a 28.3-acre undeveloped space in the Greenbrier neighborhood featuring Meadow Creek walking and bike pathways. Views of sycamore woods, a meadow, and Greenbrier Marsh, one of only two natural marshes in the Virginia Piedmont region, are available. The creek is crossed by a footbridge, which many local schoolchildren use to travel to Greenbrier School.

A recreation center, a life-size chessboard, a playground, and sports courts are all available at this busy gathering spot.

Darden Towe Park's Dog Park is a one-acre fenced-in area open to dogs off-leash from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
