Big Rock Park

The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID) is a local government that functions similarly to a municipality. A five-member Board of Supervisors, elected by the citizens, governs the CID.

Parks and Recreation improves the quality of life for Yankton people (social, cultural, educational, and physical well-being). The City of Yankton's MISSION is to deliver exceptional experiences, services, and spaces that allow everyone to learn, interact, and prosper.

As weather permits, the dog parks at the Nature Area, Manor Park, Moccasin Creek Recreation Area, and Lincoln Hockey Rink will be open from spring to fall. From daybreak to 11:00 p.m., the dog park sections are open. Daily and open to the whole population. The Lincoln Dog Park is for canines who are 17 inches tall at the shoulders and under.
