Glass City Dog Park, which began as a secure location for dogs to run free and mingle with other canines, has evolved into much more than a place for dogs to burn off excess energy.

Kevin Mullan started Toledo Unleashed, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in 2009 with the goal of establishing a dog park in Toledo, Ohio. On reclaimed land alongside the Maumee River, a 28-acre urban park with a winding cycle and footpath was built.
