Chaparral Park

Take a stroll through the Xeriscape Garden in Scottsdale, Arizona, to learn about plants that thrive in the desert, as well as how to conserve water while keeping plants healthy. With over 7,000 plants representing over 200 different species on display, the garden is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat. With your dog on a leash, follow the paths designated with instructional signs. As a reward for good conduct, take Petzooie to the Chaparral Park dog park, which is right next to the garden.

Dogs weighing less than twelve pounds are allowed at Scottsdale Fashion Square if they are held or pushed in a stroller. Of course, service dogs are welcome to accompany you on your stroll. This is a more upscale shopping center with 240 stores (and counting), an indoor playground, food court, and movie theater. Bring your walking shoes because you'll be walking a lot. Individual companies (especially movie theaters and restaurants) reserve the right to refuse entry to dogs. The Fashion Square is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Individual business hours are subject to change.

Wine lovers may spend a day with Petzooie at LDV Winery in Scottsdale, Arizona, enjoying a tour or tasting wines. LDV Winery makes their own wine from grapes produced in the foothills of the Chiricahua Mountains. Relax with Petzooie on the shaded patio with a selection of wines and cheeses from Wednesday through Sunday, and then take a quick tour through the on-site gallery, which features artwork by Arizona artists. Only by appointment are tours and wine tastings available. Dogs must be on a leash.

Su Vino Winery in Scottsdale welcomes you and your dog to enjoy outside sampling.

Grey Wolf Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, has real Native American art. Jewelry, home decor, and pottery are their specialties. Because everything in the shop is handmade, costs are higher, but it's still a fun place to visit, even if only to window shop. Dogs are welcome in the store, but owing to the fragile nature of the products, management requests that you keep them on a leash.

You and Petzooie are welcome to enjoy the large grassy areas and picnic ramadas at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. This fascinating park also has a railroad museum, antique carousel, shops, playgrounds, rides, and more.
