The 5th Avenue Shops & Boutiques are a nice area to take your dog for a stroll and do some window shopping. There are over sixty small businesses, art galleries, and restaurants to explore, many of which have a southwestern motif. Dogs, Etc., a pet boutique in the retail complex, is worth a look. Please keep in mind that most of the establishments close at 5:00 p.m. because they are small companies. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Dogs weighing less than twelve pounds are allowed at Scottsdale Fashion Square if they are held or pushed in a stroller. Of course, service dogs are welcome to accompany you on your stroll. This is a more upscale shopping center with 240 stores (and counting), an indoor playground, food court, and movie theater. Bring your walking shoes because you'll be walking a lot. Individual companies (especially movie theaters and restaurants) reserve the right to refuse entry to dogs. The Fashion Square is open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Individual business hours are subject to change.

Grey Wolf Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, has real Native American art. Jewelry, home decor, and pottery are their specialties. Because everything in the shop is handmade, costs are higher, but it's still a fun place to visit, even if only to window shop. Dogs are welcome in the store, but owing to the fragile nature of the products, management requests that you keep them on a leash.

Art aficionados and admirers alike may enjoy the Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona with their dog. Over 100 nationally recognized painters are represented at the gallery, with a focus on representational and impressionistic techniques. Visit the gallery or schedule an appointment to discuss art placement in your house, art collecting, or commissions. They also hold auctions for serious collectors. While at the gallery, dogs must be on a leash.

Petzooie can accompany art lovers to the Marshall Gallery of Fine Art in Scottsdale, Arizona, where they can view the work of over seventy world-renowned painters. Art glass, including blown glass, gem-like cast glass, and carved glass, was the focus of the gallery. They hold a biennial glass invitational during which artists from all over the world come to compete in art glass competitions. They present live music for the public on select Friday evenings. You can go to the gallery simply to look, or to shop for your own collection. They also offer advice for private and corporate collections. Outside, there is free 3-hour street parking. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Cyndy Carstens, the owner and artist, has a wide choice of landscape and atmospheric paintings in her comfortable art gallery. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a leash.
