Wasena Park

Raleigh Court Park, located behind Woodrow Wilson Middle School, offers baseball, basketball, football, and tennis grounds and courts. The playground and swings are near the school's base, while the fields run the length of the park, including a baseball diamond at each end.

Vic Thomas Park, which is located on the Roanoke River Greenway, has a variety of art that floats across the park's wild grasses and flowers. It's also one of the few parks with workout equipment along the Roanoke River greenway's loop, which leads into Wasena Park. Vic Thomas Park is also close to Black Dog Salvage, a well-known Roanoke location with its own TV show.

Hike and bike trails, a playground, tennis, disc golf, and picnic spaces are all available at this large natural park.

East Gate Park is 59 acres in size, with most access along Tinker Creek limited. This property, on the other hand, provides wildlife-friendly forest edge habitat, grassy shorelines, and shrubby wood habitats. This place is usually best birded during migration as a riparian corridor; yet, this peaceful spot is surprisingly lively in the summer. During the day, broad-winged hawks nest above the creek, while black-crowned and yellow-crowned night-herons hunt along the banks. Eastern kingbirds perch atop trees above the creek bed, gathering insects. The Pileated Woodpecker can be heard calling from deeper within the forest and can be seen along the woodland boundaries on occasion. Damselflies are in abundance as well. : Whether you want to enjoy a relaxing stroll in the park or get some exercise, Brookside has everything you need. Near the park entrance is a playground and a recently constructed rentable shelter. Additional playgrounds and park amenities, including a swing set and a ball field, are revealed by continuing across a gorgeous wooden bridge and over a stream.

A playground, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and an inline skating rink are among the amenities available.
