Go to Papago Park's Hole in the Rock for a great day excursion approximately ten minutes from downtown Phoenix. The journey to the rock is a short one that is suited for dogs and families, and it culminates in a spectacular photo opportunity. Hike with your dog to Hole in the Rock and then have a picnic with the whole family beside the park's fishing lagoon. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Bring Petzooie to Esteban Park's Petsmart Dog Park for some fun. He has plenty of space to play and make new pals. For safety, the park is fully enclosed and has two gates at the entry.

Spend a day with your dog hiking the Desert Vista Trails in Phoenix, Arizona. There are a number of paths that branch off from the trailhead, ranging in length from one to six miles. The track begins in a residential neighborhood, but soon takes you to what appears to be the middle of nothing, providing you the comfort of being close to civilization while still feeling remote. Take pictures of the owls that nest along the paths, but keep an eye out for more harmful desert wildlife, including rattlesnakes. At all times, dogs must be leashed. Bring enough water for yourself as well as Petzooie.

Enjoy the dog-friendly Apache Wash Trails on the north side of Phoenix, Arizona, from September to May. There are a variety of trails to select from, ranging in difficulty from simple to moderate. The trailhead includes trail maps so you can pick the one that best suits your skill level and needs. You and your dog can spend time here birdwatching, enjoying the local wildflowers, or simply getting some exercise. Mountain bikers and horses frequent this trail as well, so keep a look out for them. While trekking, keep your dog on a leash at all times, and pack enough of water for yourself and Petzooie.
15. RoadRunner Park Farmers' Market

Bring Petzooie to the Saturday Farmers' Market at RoadRunner Park to buy locally grown produce, baked goods, honey, jams and jellies, nursery stock, natural pork, beef, and seafood, as well as handcrafted crafts. Dogs that are well-behaved and on a leash are welcome.

Take Petzooie to Mormon Trailhead in Phoenix, Arizona, for a somewhat strenuous trek. This path is a five-mile circle with a 1,000-foot elevation increase that offers year-round vistas of the desert. Take in the wildflowers and local wildlife along the trail, or simply walk for exercise. Try one of the paths that connect to this one and explore the region if you want a longer hike. There is plenty of parking near the trailhead. Make sure to carry lots of water for both yourself and Petzooie.

The city of Phoenix's first dog park has seats and large shade trees, ADA-accessible spaces for large and small dogs, ornamental wrought iron fencing, and chilled water faucets with integrated drinking bowls for dogs at ground level. The 1.2 million square feet of retail space at the Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, Arizona, has something for everyone. A splash pad and playground are available for human children. There is a PetSmart for the furry ones. Every Friday and Saturday night, beginning at 7:00 p.m., Marketplace hosts live music. Dogs are welcome in the market, but they must be leashed, and individual retailers and restaurants have their own laws regarding whether or not dogs are permitted inside.
