Enjoy the dog-friendly Apache Wash Trails on the north side of Phoenix, Arizona, from September to May. There are a variety of trails to select from, ranging in difficulty from simple to moderate. The trailhead includes trail maps so you can pick the one that best suits your skill level and needs. You and your dog can spend time here birdwatching, enjoying the local wildflowers, or simply getting some exercise. Mountain bikers and horses frequent this trail as well, so keep a look out for them. While trekking, keep your dog on a leash at all times, and pack enough of water for yourself and Petzooie.

You and your dog may enjoy a choice of hiking trails in Deem Hills. Deem Hills, made up of Precambrian granite and Tertiary volcanic rocks, is a piece of ancient history just waiting to be discovered. The Deem Hills Circumference Trail is 5.73 miles long and runs the length of the recreation area, affording spectacular vistas over the Phoenix area as well as the chance to see the wild and varied Arizona Upland vegetation. There are a variety of additional pathways to select from, offering interesting hikes for people of all fitness levels. All trails in Phoenix are subject to leash rules, and pets must be leashed at all times.

At Pioneer Living History Village, you and Petzooie will find more than 90 acres of history to explore. This 1800s village has plenty to see and do, with real buildings, historically accurate reproductions, and costumed interpreters. At all times, dogs must be leashed. During the summer, be mindful that snakes are active.

Visit the Martin Auto Museum in Phoenix, Arizona, to get your photo made with Fido in a 1966 Corvette Stingray or a 1915 Model T, or any of the other antique automobiles at the museum, which were all given from Mel Martin's personal collection. You can touch and sit in all of the automobiles for a $5 donation (aside from two extremely valuable exceptions). A miniature carousel is available for human children. Small dogs are permitted at the museum but must be restrained or carried.

Pinnacle Dog Park welcomes pets. Unleash your dog in this three-acre park in Phoenix, which includes separate fenced spaces for large and small dogs, as well as a third portion that can be rotated into use when other areas are closed for maintenance. Shade trees, turf and decomposed granite surfaces, drinking fountains, benches, and LED lighting are among the amenities. Pinnacle Dog Park is open from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day of the week.

There are separate spaces for large and little dogs, shade trees, seats, and cool running water in this gorgeous, fully-fenced off-leash dog park. Any pet waste must be picked up right away by the owner. Dog waste dispensers called Mutt Mitts can be seen in both the large and small dog sections.
