Desert Vista Trailhead at Sonoran Preserve

Spend a day with your dog hiking the Desert Vista Trails in Phoenix, Arizona. There are a number of paths that branch off from the trailhead, ranging in length from one to six miles. The track begins in a residential neighborhood, but soon takes you to what appears to be the middle of nothing, providing you the comfort of being close to civilization while still feeling remote. Take pictures of the owls that nest along the paths, but keep an eye out for more harmful desert wildlife, including rattlesnakes. At all times, dogs must be leashed. Bring enough water for yourself as well as Petzooie.
