The Lookout Mountain Preserve offers a variety of hiking paths. All trails in Phoenix are subject to leash rules, thus dogs must be leashed at all times. These mountains are the lesser cousins of the more well-known North Mountain region, which is located just to the south. It offers a chance to hike to a peak and enjoy vistas without the crowds and substantial elevation rises of nearby Piestewa Peak and North Mountain.

There are separate spaces for large and little dogs, shade trees, seats, and cool running water in this gorgeous, fully-fenced off-leash dog park. Any pet waste must be picked up right away by the owner. Dog waste dispensers called Mutt Mitts can be seen in both the large and small dog sections. The park may be closed in the event of severe rain to allow the turf to dry. For the most up-to-date information on wet weather closures, give us a call.
