Oak Island Beaches

At Ft. Fisher State Park, dogs must be kept on a leash all year. This large beach is ideal for your dog to romp around on and swim with other canines. Laws governing pet waste disposal are stringent, and bags are given for this purpose. Please clean up after your dog so that we don't lose our dog privileges at this lovely beach!

From April 1 to September 30, dogs on a leash are welcome in Freeman Park in Carolina Beach. Dogs are allowed off-leash from October 1 to March 31 as long as they are under voice direction and their owner is nearby. Owners must have at least two acceptable plastic or paper waste containers on hand until the rubbish can be disposed of properly. Upon request, the bags must be produced and displayed.

The off-leash dog park at Sugg Farm in Holly Springs is a terrific place for your pups to exercise and socialize, with an acre to run and play on.

Piney Wood Dog Park is located at 400 E. Piney Wood Rd. A small dog area, a large dog space, a program area, and an entry area are all available at Woodcroft Parkway. Water fountains, garbage bag dispensers, chairs, and a kiosk are among the amenities.

Open lawn spaces, a tennis court, a playground, a gazebo, and a half-mile walking track are all available at this park.
