Ahuska Park

With some restrictions, licensed dogs are allowed in City of Monona parks on a leash and under the direction of their owners. Dogs are not permitted in fenced athletic fields, playgrounds, park shelters, or beaches. The full ordinance can be found here.

The only private dog park in Madison. There is plenty of outside area to keep your dog's mind and body active.

The entire small dog area is expected to reopen in 2023. With three locations, Odana School, Madison Parks offers nine gated, off-leash dog parks.

According to the Trust for Public Land, Madison has the most playgrounds per capita in the country. Traditional swings and slides, as well as contemporary play components and completely accessible playgrounds, are constantly available.

This recreational area, which was once a quarry, offers picnic shelters with stone fireplaces and a trail network.
