This trail to Tahquitz Peak is less traveled and more dog-friendly than the other. Because this route passes through the San Jacinto Wilderness, leash regulations apply. Depending on where you start your hike, you'll need a wilderness ticket or an Adventure Pass.

This lovely park is a large and remote retreat with plenty of delicious pine trees, a seasonal brook, various trails, and spectacular mountain views. The campground has a total of 130 campsites. Within the park, there is a seasonal watercourse. Lake Hemet is a great place to go fishing. Within the park, there are numerous hiking/biking paths. A one-mile walk will take you to a modest general store. There are also huge group sections at the campground, with five distinct loops that can accommodate 80-100 campers apiece. Although you will need an Adventure Pass to park, you will not require a permit.
