The park is located in northeast Carlsbad and has a small trail connecting it to the Ann D. L'Heureux Dog Park. The 22-acre park site, formerly known as Larwin Park, is divided by a huge canyon holding vegetation that supports the endangered California gnatcatcher. The park's majority will be left the undeveloped open areas.
