The late-nineteenth-century frontier soldier's life is depicted in Fort Verde State Historic Park. Bring Petzooie along to explore historic buildings, learn from interpreters, and participate in living history displays throughout the year. Pets are welcome at Montezuma Castle National Monument. Dogs are welcome on the paths at both Montezuma Castle and Montezuma. Do not leave a dog inside a car due to the severe temperatures during the summer months. Temperatures inside a locked automobile can reach over 140 degrees even with the windows opened down modestly. While you're here, make sure Fido signs up to be a Bark Ranger! At all times, dogs must be kept on a leash that is less than six feet long and under control. All mess must be cleaned up after in order to maintain the cleanliness of the space. The Montezuma Castle National Monument is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week.
