Herricks Cove
The Herrick's Cove IBA is made up of two lots in Rockingham that are about similar in size. Herrick's Cove is located north of Bellows Falls, where the Williams River meets the Connecticut River. The Connecticut River is separated from the cove by a peninsula that extends southward. Upper Meadows is located to the north and comprises mostly of agricultural lands flanked to the west by marshes and to the south by floodplain forest. Cattail and Deep Broadleaf Marsh, Alder Swamp, and Silver Maple-Ostrich Fern Riverine Floodplain Forest are examples of Vermont Natural Communities. The Herrick's Cove Peninsula's understory is dominated with honeysuckle.
