Hike to Tom's Thumb in Scottsdale, Arizona, with your dog. There are paths for people of all ability levels, although the most demanding are intermediate to severe. In some places of Saguaro National Park, leashed dogs are permitted. The city of Tucson divides Saguaro into two districts. Dogs are not allowed on trails, off-road, or inside visitors centers, according to the park's website. "Pets are allowed only on roadways, picnic spots (excluding Mam-A-Gah picnic area in the Tucson Mountain District-west), and paved trails (Desert Ecology Trail & Desert Discovery Trail)." Dog owners should keep their pets on a six-foot leash and keep an eye out for cactus spines, prickly bushes, snakes, exposed mine shafts, scorpions, and heat stroke. Sweetwater Preserve Trailhead is a pet-friendly network of trails in Tucson's foothills that are suitable for hikers of all abilities. Although dogs are allowed on the trails, horses and mountain bikes are not, which means you and Petzooie must be extra cautious and on a leash. The pathways are extensive, giving dogs plenty of opportunities to explore. The optimum time to visit these trails is between October and March.

Tuzigoot National Monument is a 42-acre park located just outside Clarkdale, Arizona. Before hiking the paths through the Tuzigoot village and Tavasci Marsh, visitors to the monument can visit the museum and visitors center. Dogs are permitted on the trails but are not permitted inside any of the structures. Dogs must be on a 6-foot (or shorter) leash at all times, and any pet waste must be picked up right afterwards.

The Outlets at Anthem offer a day of shopping for the shopper in you. There are more than sixty designer brand stores and a food court. Visit around the holidays to see Arizona's largest Christmas tree! Dogs are permitted at the outlets, and poop bag stations and dog water faucets are located throughout the site. However, if you're bringing Fido, bring a companion who can wait outside with your dog, as some establishments do not allow dogs inside. Although dogs are not allowed in the food court, there is lots of outside seating where you may sit and eat with your family.

Hubert Tompkins Park has a dog park with separate spaces for little and large dogs. A basketball court (lit), seats, shaded children's playgrounds, drinking fountains, exercise stations, a grass play area, horseshoe pits, parking (lighted), Ramadas with electricity and picnic tables, restrooms, volleyball court, and a walking route are also available (0.75 miles).
