I am delighted to share my wonderful experience with you. Approximately five years ago, I had the pleasure of adopting a charming feline named Jon Snow from this remarkable place. Over the years, I have continued to visit for Jon Snow's regular vaccinations, ensuring his health and happiness.
Recently, I welcomed a new addition to my family, a kitten named Milo, who I promptly neutered and received his vaccinations at the same location. I am truly grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff, not only for their expertise but also for their genuine affection and compassion toward our beloved pets.
Overview:
In 1927, Elsie Seeger, a caring and dedicated socialite, established the Baltimore Humane Society (BHS) with a heartfelt mission to ensure the well-being and humane treatment of companion and service animals. BHS takes great pride in being a valued member of the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance, collaborating closely with the Maryland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Baltimore Animal Rescue.
BHS offers a range of essential programs and services to support animals and their human companions. This includes reduced adoption fees for seniors and senior pets, assistance with pet food for families facing financial challenges, engaging humane education initiatives for children, and animal fostering to enhance their capacity to help more animals in need.
If you ever find yourself in the difficult position of needing to surrender a pet, BHS accepts pets by appointment only and offers clear guidelines on its website to assist you through the process. Their adoption counselors are readily available to assist you with your application and provide valuable information about the pet you are interested in.
In addition to these services, BHS extends its compassion to provide funeral services for pets at their Memorial Park. Here, you can choose from various pet casket options and have a dignified resting place for your pet's cremated remains.
Moreover, BHS is dedicated to education and outreach, offering the necessary forms and resources on its website to help you engage in these programs. The Baltimore Humane Society stands as a pillar of support for both animals and their human companions, embodying Elsie Seeger's noble vision from nearly a century ago.

The staff were incredibly supportive and considerate. They gave me the opportunity to personally secure a muzzle on my pet and gently place him on the stretcher. This made me feel at ease, knowing that my beloved pet wouldn't get hurt and wouldn't pose a risk to anyone.
When it was time to say our final goodbyes, my family was allowed to carry him to the truck. They provided clear explanations of the entire process, assuring us that they would ensure the safety of our pet and everyone else involved.
Their compassion and understanding of our emotions during this difficult time were truly comforting. They even went the extra mile to offer us solace and support.
