Concerned residents have established numerous organizations over the past few years to address the growing issue of unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals in the Gainesville region. Dr. Shelly Gomulak served as the organization's leader as Noah's Ark, S.P.C.A. was established.

Dava Cooley-Cook, our founder and executive director, and her family launched County Roads Rescue in May 2016. Even though our family has always had a soft spot for animal rescue, our decision to launch a true rescue was spurred by the huge problem of stray and unwanted animals as well as the knowledge that Cherokee County people had no other options.

A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Houston Boxer Rescue provides entire foster care for its dogs without using kennel facilities. Throughout the Houston Metroplex and beyond, HBR is committed to the rescue, treatment, health, and re-homing of abused, neglected, or surrendered boxers.
