Seattle Area Feline Rescue

The mission of Whisker City is to improve the lives of cats and kittens who are caught in unfavorable situations. April Brown has been running Whisker City's sanctuary and rehabilitation facility for more than 30 years.

The Haus of Dogs (THoD) was inspired by a 2012 event. My first rescue, Castle, came from a high-kill facility in California that smelled of chemicals and urine and gave me headaches. There were endless rows of chained dogs, their tails wagging, paws anxiously clawing at their bars, and eyes pleading with me to let them go.

Whether home is the living room or the jungle, PAWS is about people assisting cats, dogs, and wild animals to go there and thrive. Our methods for achieving this include caring for and adopting out homeless cats and dogs, rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife, and educating the public to encourage humane behavior toward animals.

Lisa Clark and Lisa Nelson, two close friends who also support animals, established Imagine Peace for Pups in the Seattle, Washington region. They quickly realized how little time is given to dogs at shelters—some are put to death in less than 24 hours.

Resilient Hearts Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 charity organization that helps animals from all over the country find their forever homes in the Pacific Northwest.

With the help of veterinary services, informational programs, and other initiatives that advance animal welfare, Seattle Humane rescues animals in need and matches them with families.
