"The Walker County Animal Shelter's (WCAS) objective is to offer lost, unwanted, and abandoned animals with compassionate care. We work to adopt out every adoptable animal into a loving family and promote responsible pet ownership through initiatives like spay/neuter."

The Dalton Humane Society, Inc., forerunner to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, was established in 1977. The organization was renamed the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, Inc. in 1988. The land for our prior building was leased from Dr. Charles Wade's family in 2006.

The Whitfield County Animal Shelter's goal is to give abused, stray, and owner-returned animals temporary housing while also providing a safe environment and the necessary care up until a decision about their future can be made.

The 501(c)3 non-profit Murray County Humane Society is an all-volunteer organization that rescues unwanted animals in our remote part of north Georgia.

Preventing rabies from spreading to the residents of Murray County. lowering the frequency of injuries caused by animals by encouraging responsible pet ownership through public education

Additionally, this department manages an animal adoption program, euthanizes animals, and runs a 38-unit dog and 20-unit cat holding facility.
