Work with rescue organizations to facilitate adoptions of animals currently residing in area shelters

To educate people about the duties of pet ownership in order to reduce the number of dogs and cats in our neighborhood. We also want to provide a clean, stress-free temporary home for stray dogs and cats through our animal shelter.

The mission of Florence Lauderdale Animal Services is to provide our community with compassionate and effective animal care and control services. In the City of Florence and Lauderdale County, we accept any stray, abandoned, and surrendered pets. Every year, we work with fosters, volunteers, neighborhood adopters, and different rescues to find homes for thousands of unwanted animals.

We are committed to the preservation and improvement of the quality of life for animals that have been left behind, mistreated, abandoned, given up for adoption, or discovered to be homeless. Our volunteers put in countless hours to stop animal abuse and exploitation.

In order to examine and stabilize the physical and emotional needs of Boston Terriers and Boston Terrier mixes in need and find them the finest possible homes, Birmingham Boston Terrier Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization. In an effort to keep these dogs from ever needing rescue, we offer advice and assistance to pet owners. Finally, in order to save animals and promote humane treatment of animals, we collaborate with other rescue groups, shelters, and other like-minded organizations.

Most of the dogs we rescue are little breeds like chihuahuas. For more than 20 years, we have been saving and nurturing dogs. Our mission is to locate animals who have no home or a poor start in life and find them a caring forever home.
