Marshfield Animal Shelter

Strong, devoted volunteers from Standish take care of, feed, and socialize our kitties.

Our shelter reunites scores of abandoned dogs with their appreciative owners each year and provides homes for an average of more than 500 animals. Our pets come to us from all across the state and stay with us for however long they require. We do not, and we have never, euthanized animals in order to make room in the shelter.

Our goal is to improve community awareness of animal safety & welfare issues while promoting these issues via love, respect, and compassion.

A non-profit animal welfare group called Friends of the Plymouth Pound (FPP) is committed to finding "forever homes" for rescued cats and dogs on the South Shore. The Friends, a nonprofit organization founded in 1984, and its devoted and compassionate volunteers have helped thousands of animals—both owned and stray—by offering assistance through the group's several initiatives, which include adoption, low-cost spay/neutering, and educational outreach.
