Fried's Cat Shelter Inc

Hans and Lucille Fried established Fried's Cat Shelter in 1977. In 1939, the Fried family emigrated to America from Nazi Germany. They sold their house in Beverly Shores, Indiana, in the late 1970s to purchase a run-down wayside motel in Michigan City, Indiana. They transformed the motel into a no-kill sanctuary free of cages for stray and abandoned cats. ​
