A 501c3 Nonprofit Dog Hospice, Petite Trésors Rescue & Sanctuary cares for senior, handicapped, and abused dogs. We permanently take in dogs that no one else wants.

Because we feel they deserve it, Lakeshore PAWS is committed to finding loving homes for abandoned and unwanted pets in Northwest Indiana, one animal at a time.

A 501C3 non-profit canine rescue run entirely by volunteers, Begin Again Rescue Co. Our pets are all housed in foster homes. We make an effort to place our dogs in the best possible homes.

Our goal is to lessen pet overpopulation and animal homelessness by helping homeless animals find shelter, educating the public about responsible pet ownership, providing thoroughly vetted adoption services, and supporting spay and neuter campaigns.

Hans and Lucille Fried established Fried's Cat Shelter in 1977. In 1939, the Fried family emigrated to America from Nazi Germany. They sold their house in Beverly Shores, Indiana, in the late 1970s to purchase a run-down wayside motel in Michigan City, Indiana. They transformed the motel into a no-kill sanctuary free of cages for stray and abandoned cats. ​

In order to meet the need for assisting pets not only in our neighborhood but also in the surrounding area of northwest Indiana, Second Chance 4 Pets Network was established in 2012.
