Onslow County Animal Services

Adult cats that were previously abandoned have a place to roam and play at CAPS. They can find beautiful forever homes and leave the shelter if given the chance for their true feline selves to show.

Our goal is to reduce the euthanasia rate by collaborating with donations, volunteers, county shelters, local businesses, and people.

Our volunteer foster homes are fostering lifelong relationships between animals in need and their furever human families.

In addition to ensuring that animals are treated humanely, Duplin County Animal Services (DCAS) works to encourage responsible pet ownership, safeguard the health and safety of its citizens, and offer temporary sanctuary for unwanted and stray animals.

Animal Services patrols the city in search of lost and stray animals, responds to animal complaints, and enforces local and state animal control laws. The business is unique from other local governments in that it runs its own facilities for animal control.

The only no-kill shelter in Craven County is Colonial Capital Humane Society (CCHS), which was founded in 1978. We are dedicated to giving abandoned, abused, and neglected animals a nurturing environment while they wait for their forever homes. CCHS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on donations and volunteer labor.
