In Columbia County, Ella Merle and her daughter Dede Kline took up the lofty mission of rescuing animals that had gotten lost in society in 1955. One little structure with five dog kennels has grown into a multifaceted animal welfare organization today that can house up to sixty dogs and one hundred cats because to their dedication and tireless work.

At Pooches Out of Puerto Rico, our purpose is to save dogs who have been taken off the streets, abandoned, handed in, or otherwise placed in a high-risk shelter.

Everlasting Hope Animal Rescue and Advocacy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of saving not only the lives of animals but also bringing attention to the massive overpopulation of unwanted animals not just in New York but worldwide.

Since 1891, the private, nonprofit Ulster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has provided services to the county that bears its name. Our goal is to prevent cruelty to animals by giving homeless, abused, and neglected animals temporary shelter, finding them adoptive homes, conducting cruelty investigations, resolving the homeless animal crisis by offering low-cost spay/neuter services for cats and dogs and by sterilizing all animals up for adoption, offering humane education, and working to improve laws that prohibit animal cruelty.
