Humane Society-Johnson County

We are a Johnson County, Indiana, all-admissions shelter. We are a government-run facility, not a 501(c)(3), and we do our best to find homes for each and every animal in our care.

We are a 501c3 non-profit rescue that offers dogs love, shelter, food, and medical attention. By the goodwill of others, we render services.

The goal of Southside Animal Shelter is to rescue stray dogs and cats, care for them, and get them back into loving homes where they can live happy, healthy lives.

February 2009, we are an organization that rescues animals in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indiana Secretary of State has our articles of incorporation on record, and the IRS has recognized us as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that qualifies for tax-deductible donations.

Our mission is to assist those who lack the ability to speak for themselves, to provide unwanted, abused, and injured animals with humane care, to stop animal cruelty, and to place adoptable pets in suitable, long-term homes with responsible owners.
