When Elsa Wulff bought a little farm store in 1988, Mud Bay was born. Early on, Mud Bay sold a little of almost everything, from locally grown oysters, pop tarts, and folk art to hog feed, fertilizer, and hay. The store was housed in an 80-year-old building on Mud Bay Road, which runs west out of Olympia and spans the bottom end of Mud Bay, one of the southern arms of Puget Sound. The shop also suffered a loss. Lars, Elsa's son, joined Mud Bay as its third employee in 1989 after realizing that his mother couldn't afford for the company to fail. 

Bonita Flagg recognized the need for healthy pet food free of the negative effects of artificial preservatives and colours after managing local animal shelters for 15 years. During her study into common pet food ingredients, Bonita found that the quality of the meat was frequently subpar and frequently included rendered animals, such as euthanized horses, cats, and dogs, as well as ground hooves, beaks, and claws. She founded her business in order to provide the Northern Olympic Peninsula's canine residents with the healthiest nutrition. In June 2011, our darling Bonita went to live with her cherished animal companions in heaven.

We support both what you do and what we offer. We are aware of the comfort a warm pair of boots may bring on a chilly, rainy morning. Just a simple bag of feed may keep a ranch, farm, or even a house in good working order. Everything we sell is a part of both your and our lives, so we are aware of this. We also replace pipes, feed animals, and clean stables. We hunt, fish, and take use of nature. We're going to the county fair, the rodeo, and the upcoming country music performance. We can't wait to try on the newest pair of jeans and cowboy boots. Every day, we work with our hands dirty, tending to chickens and other animals, turning wrenches and pounding nails.

Hope and Jim Williams' love for Maggie, the Golden Retriever rescue dog who had been given three months to live by the veterinarian, was the catalyst for everything. Our founders, Hope and Jim, made the decision to adopt Maggie and pledged to "give her the best 3 months of her life." Maggie survived a lively 3 more years after they created a tailored diet for her utilizing natural, healthful foods and vitamins! Their passion for assisting others and their discoveries about Maggie's rehabilitation led them to realize their true calling:

Owned and run locally, Fluffy and Floyd's. We take pride in our community and are not a chain store. In order to serve the pet-loving community, owners Stacie and Jeff Oehlerich created Fluffy and Floyd's in Thurston County where they live and work. They strongly believe that it is their duty to support the things they sell and remain accessible to their clients at all times. They proudly own two cats and four dogs as pets. With her dogs, Stacie enjoys competing in agility events.
