Hiking and mountain bike trails with steep hills, sharp turns, and rocky terrain may be found in this wooded area.

Many volunteers, including the La Riviere Horse Riders, the Prairie du Chien Rod & Gun Club, and the Boy Scouts, keep it running. On the geological feature known as the Bridgeport Terrace, it includes sections of hills, woodlands, open fields, and minimal agricultural land. The terrace is really the prehistoric Mississippi River's old riverbed. The park is also a recognized Tree City and Bird City USA destination due to its richness of natural resources. The 431-acre New Glarus Woods State Park in Wisconsin features rolling hills covered in a mix of woodland and prairie. The park is connected to the Sugar River State Trail, making it bike-friendly. The Badger State Trail is also connected to this trail.

Bring Fido to the three-acre City of Chetek Dog Park to play off-leash! The Dog Park is open to the public and has a small dog section as well as an area for dogs of all sizes. The Chetek Dog Park is open all year. When entering and exiting the Park, dogs must be cleaned up after and leashed.
