Many volunteers, including the La Riviere Horse Riders, the Prairie du Chien Rod & Gun Club, and the Boy Scouts, keep it running. On the geological feature known as the Bridgeport Terrace, it includes sections of hills, woodlands, open fields, and minimal agricultural land. The terrace is really the prehistoric Mississippi River's old riverbed. The park is also a recognized Tree City and Bird City USA destination due to its richness of natural resources. Hiking, bird viewing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, picnics, berry and nut gathering, and nature appreciation are all activities that can be enjoyed today.

The 431-acre New Glarus Woods State Park in Wisconsin features rolling hills covered in a mix of woodland and prairie. The park is connected to the Sugar River State Trail, making it bike-friendly. The Badger State Trail is also connected to this trail.

Grundahl Park, on Blue Mounds Street on the Village's southwest side, was built in stages during the 1980s using funds raised from the annual Summer Frolic celebration. Electric outlets, a drinking fountain, and a grill are available in the open octagon shelter, which can accommodate up to 200 people. There is also a heated, enclosed shelter with restrooms that can hold up to 50 people. Both shelters are available for reservations all year. A illuminated ball diamond, playground equipment, basketball court, sledding slope, and a community stage that hosts a summer music series are among the park's other features.

The restored Helena Shot Tower may be found at Tower Hill State Park in Wisconsin, United States. The first shot tower was built in 1832 and continued to produce lead shot until 1860. In 1973, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bring Fido to the three-acre City of Chetek Dog Park to play off-leash! The Dog Park is open to the public and has a small dog section as well as an area for dogs of all sizes. The Chetek Dog Park is open all year. When entering and exiting the Park, dogs must be cleaned up after and leashed.
