Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Chief Ladiga Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Jacksonville! A parking lot with easy access to the Chief Ladiga Trail is shown on the map below.

Bridge Street Town Centre is a pet-friendly outdoor shopping mall. Dog-friendly establishments are plainly displayed on the front doors; nevertheless, not all establishments welcome dogs. During their visit, dogs must be leashed. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Bridge Street Town Centre is open.

The synthetic turf dog park has distinct off-leash areas for little and large dogs, as well as water splash pads, tunnels, and hoops.

On the public beach, dogs on a leash are welcome all year. Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama, is a dog-friendly park where mountain biking and hiking are two of the most popular activities. Visitors can select from more than 50 miles of trails, whether they want to do a quick loop or stay overnight. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the park if they are on a leash. For safety concerns, several bike and equestrian riding trails do not allow dogs. In stores, food service areas, bathhouses, pools, and swimming areas, dogs are not permitted. Fido cannot be left unsupervised, and if left in a heated car for more than 30 minutes, he will be confiscated.
