Red Mountain Park

Red Mountain Park, a nonprofit organization, is located in Birmingham, 3 miles west of I-65 (Lakeshore Parkway Exit #255), on 1,500 wooded acres. The Red Ore Zip Tour (a 12-hour zip line adventure), the Hugh Kaul Beanstalk Forest (20 unique rope and cable treetop challenges), the 80-foot climbing/rappelling Kaul Adventure Tower, and the 1,000-foot Mega Zip are among the 12 miles of walking, hiking, and mountain biking trails available to visitors. The historic 'Redding Hoist House,' three Treehouse vistas (SkyHy, Riley's Roost, and Rushing Rendezvous), and sights of iron ore mine entrances all thrill and amaze Park visitors. The Park will have 20 miles of trails, picnic pavilions, an event venue, two formal entries with parking, and the Robert R. Meyer Activity Center when Phase 2 Development is completed in 2016. New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day are all closed.
