Tahoe City Dog Park

The Tahoe City Public Utility District operates and maintains Skylandia State Park & Beach, a 24-acre California State Park. On Lake Forest Road, 1.5 miles east of Tahoe City, it is located. Skylandia Park offers biking, hiking, and picnics opportunities.

Dogs of all sizes are allowed to join you on the more than 8 kilometers of ski trails at Tahoe Cross Country. Although skijoring is not permitted on the trails, Petzooie can cross-country ski beside you and enjoy the snow. Although leashes are required at the parking lot and at the trailhead, your dog can enjoy the trail without one as long as he remains under your voice control.

Dogs are welcome to join you on a Tahoe City Kayak rental out on the water. Dogs are not permitted in the Tahoe City Kayak building, despite the fact that the rentals are pet-friendly. One dog owner will be required to travel with the rental and meet their canine companion and rowing partner at the public dock. Rates and hours vary depending on the type of rental. Online reservations are available. The shop is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday).

Truckee River Rafting in Tahoe City, California, offers self-guided rafting adventures for you and your dog down a tranquil 5-mile section of the Truckee River. The picturesque rafting adventures are suitable for people of all ages and skills. The rafting excursion takes between two and four hours to complete. You are welcome to bring a small cooler with snacks and drinks for your tour. Dogs under 50 pounds must be on a leash.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Truckee River Bike Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad track, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Tahoe City!
