The 1,100-acre La Tuna Canyon Park gives trail access to the Verdugo Mountains' difficult upper levels. At the trailhead, there is parking and picnic tables. Bring your leashed dog on a hike through this Sun Valley park's shaded paths. Mountain bikers should be avoided at all costs.

Crescenta Valley Dog Park

A 0.5-acre small dog area and a 1-acre large dog area with separate double-gated entries are available at the Crescenta Valley Dog Park. Each area is totally gated, with huge amounts of decomposed granite surfacing and cedar chip surfacing beneath and around the older trees. A dog wash is located outside the entrance gates, as well as drinking fountains for both humans and pets, benches in both areas, some with shade structures, and security lighting.
