Looking for a fun place to take your kids, both human and canine, for the day? The Gateway Trailhead in Scottsdale, Arizona, offers a variety of hiking and educational opportunities. Children can pick up a passport at the trailhead and collect stamps at other nearby trails to get a prize at the end. There are a variety of routes for all ability levels, beginning with a kid-friendly 0.5 mile nature trail complete with educational games and signs. There is ample of parking, as well as facilities and drinking fountains, at the trailhead. Make sure you have plenty of warm clothing for both you and Petzooie. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

For more experienced hikers, the Sunrise Peak Trail in Scottsdale, Arizona is an excellent option. It's a four-mile in-and-out trail with a 1,100-foot elevation difference. The trail is steep and rocky, and it is almost all upward, but once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the McDowell Mountains and the surrounding granite formations. Because of its difficulties, this trail is less busy than others in the area. The trailhead has free parking and a water fountain, but no restrooms. Make sure you have plenty of water for both you and Fido. All dogs must be kept on a leash.

WestWorld of Scottsdale is a terrific option whether you need a large-scale event space rental or simply want to attend one of the many events that come to Scottsdale. An equestrian center and a dining hall are among the 300,000 square feet of show area. The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, the International Motorcycle Show, and the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show are just a few of the significant events that use the space. Parking is plentiful, and the parking lot is occasionally used as additional event space. The public can reserve the space up to a year in advance. Dogs must be on a leash.

Spend some time in Scottsdale, Arizona's Scottsdale Quarter. With a wide range of chain stores and boutiques, as well as a wide range of restaurants, you're sure to find something you like and leave with your wallets a little lighter. Relax in the garden under the giant palm palms while the kids play in the interactive fountain. Later, see a movie at the high-end iPic theater, where you may have dinner in a leather reclining chair with a blanket and pillow while watching the film.
