Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry's Beach)
The beach that runs beneath the Douglas Family Preserve in the City of Santa Barbara is dog-friendly and off-leash; it starts east of the slough at Arroyo Burro Beach (locals call it Hendry's Beach) and stretches almost to the steps at Mesa Lane. The eastern boundary is defined by fallen eucalyptus trees. From the Arroyo Burro parking lot, go to the beach, turn left, and bridge the slough to reach the off-leash legal area. Please keep your dog on a leash until you cross the slough, both in the parking lot and on the beach.
