Pacific Beach welcomes pets. You may walk your dog along beautiful dunes stretching from the Crystal Pier to Pacific Beach Drive. Between November 1 and March 31, dogs are not permitted on the beach, boardwalk, or nearby parks between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Between April 1 and October 31, dogs are not permitted on the beach, boardwalk, or nearby parks between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dogs must be on a leash at all other times. Dog owners must clean up after their pets.

Kate Sessions Park is a dog-friendly hidden treasure in San Diego and a great spot to walk your leashed dog. The park is divided into two sections. A grassy slope area with picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms, drinking fountains, and a 0.75-mile paved walking route is the first. The other is a hiking-friendly portion of natural habitat.
