Kate Sessions Park is a dog-friendly hidden treasure in San Diego and a great spot to walk your leashed dog. The park is divided into two sections. A grassy slope area with picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms, drinking fountains, and a 0.75-mile paved walking route is the first. The other is a hiking-friendly portion of natural habitat.

Capehart Dog Park

This one-acre park, located at the intersection of Felspar and Soledad Mountain Roads, features two gated pens with turfed sections. The first is for tiny dogs, while the second is for large dogs. Water for dogs, a drinking fountain, picnic tables and seats, and a parking area are all available at both locations.

Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach welcomes pets. You may walk your dog along beautiful dunes stretching from the Crystal Pier to Pacific Beach Drive. Between November 1 and March 31, dogs are not permitted on the beach, boardwalk, or nearby parks between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Between April 1 and October 31, dogs are not permitted on the beach, boardwalk, or nearby parks between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Dogs must be on a leash at all other times.
