El Dorado Trail - Forni Rd to Missouri Flat Rd Segment

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the El Dorado Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in El Dorado! A parking lot with easy access to the El Dorado Trail is shown on the map below.

Dogs on leashes are allowed on several of the trails in this state park. Lots of history, with signage detailing the area's history, all on well-maintained pathways. Along Highway 49, there's a true gem.

Well-kept, easy-to-follow trail loop with excellent river access for swimming.

In a specified part of this park, located on Creekside Drive, dogs are allowed to play off-leash.

At Ashford Park, there is a new Ashley Memorial Dog Park with a separate little dog section. There are plans in the pipeline to build an agility area as well as a pond.
