La Framboise Island

You can explore more than 350 acres of open area in Pierre. Steamboat and Griffin, our two largest parks, are located along the Missouri River and offer spectacular vistas and landscapes.

The Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID) is a local government that functions similarly to a municipality. A five-member Board of Supervisors, elected by the citizens, governs the CID.

As weather permits, the dog parks at the Nature Area, Manor Park, Moccasin Creek Recreation Area, and Lincoln Hockey Rink will be open from spring to fall. From daybreak to 11:00 p.m., the dog park sections are open. Daily and open to the whole population. The Lincoln Dog Park is for canines who are 17 inches tall at the shoulders and under.
