Bookmans Entertainment Exchange is a used book, music, movie, video game, and musical instrument store that buys, sells, and swaps used books, music, movies, video games, and musical instruments. In their stores, well-behaved, leashed dogs are accepted.

One of Phoenix's most popular off-leash dog parks is PETsMART Dog Park in Washington Park. This park is fully enclosed and has separate entrances and spaces for little and large dogs, covering approximately 2.5 acres. There are also watering stations, benches, and mutt mitt dispensers on the premises. Owners must pick up after their pets and keep dogs on leashes until they enter the play area. The park may be closed after heavy rains to allow the turf to dry. The park is occasionally closed for flood irrigation throughout the year. On walks up Shaw Butte, hikers are welcome to bring their leashed pets. Shaw Butte is located directly north of North Mountain and is part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserves. A trek to Shaw Butte rewards hikers with spectacular vistas of North Mountain, Piestewa Peak, and Lookout Mountain, as well as stunning views of Phoenix. Hikers have a range of trail options to select from. All hiking trails in Phoenix are subject to leash rules, and pets must be leashed at all times.

On a hike up North Mountain, leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their owners. North Mountain is a part of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve and is one of the more easily accessible mountains. Choose from a peak ascent or a variety of trails ranging in difficulty. Hikers can get a good glimpse of the Phoenix skyline. The trail varies in difficulty from a pleasant paved road to rocky, somewhat steep climbs. On the hiking trails in Phoenix, leash rules apply, and pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Make sure you have plenty of water for yourself and Petzooie.

While dogs are not allowed on Piestewa Peak, they are allowed on several of the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area's routes, notably the Dreamy Draw Nature Trail. Everything from spectacular views to quiet valleys can be found in the different desert environments.

Practical Art is a dog-friendly store and gallery facility that sells only locally manufactured goods made of wood, fiber, ceramic, glass, metal, and up-cycled materials. All of the pieces are made by craftsmen in Arizona. Practical Art sells utilitarian artwork such as cooking utensils, home and office goods, soap, apparel, furniture, and jewelry, among other things. Leashed dogs should be well-behaved because there are fragile products in the store.
