The Rio Grande Nature Trail is a great place to take your leashed four-legged friend for a little trek! The 1.80-mile loop begins at the 270-acre Rio Grande Nature Center State Park in the suburban Albuquerque community of Alvardo Gardens, and goes through beautiful bosque woodland and willow thickets on its way down to the river, with plenty of shade provided by the cottonwoods.

Pat Hurley Park is divided into two sections. A paved route that winds up the slope connects them. The Community Center and playground are circled on the lower loop. The upper loop circles a small playground and grass playfields. Combine all of the trails for a 1.1-mile stroll.

The Redlands Dog Park is a fenced-in, off-leash dog park located within Ford Park in Redlands, California, with separate spaces for little and large canines. The Redlands Unleashed Fidos & Friends (R.U.F.F.) community volunteers developed the dog park and continue to maintain the off-leash area.
