Spike's Desert Dog Park

With your four-legged companion, explore singing sand dunes, gaping canyons, and blossoming wildflowers. Always keep pets on six-foot or shorter leashes, and provide plenty of water for Petzooie.

Mayflower Regional Park, located by the Colorado River in Blythe, CA, is a dog-friendly park. Fishing, boating, grilling areas, and RV and dry camping sites are all available at the park. Both people and dogs must pay a day-use fee. Petzooie must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times.

Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker, California, sells beef jerky, nuts, trail mixes, dried fruits, stuffed olives, and honey to dogs. Dogs must be on a leash.

Petzooie is permitted in some areas of Joshua Tree National Park, which is home to two separate desert ecosystems: the Mojave and the Colorado. Pets must be kept on a six-foot leash at all times and are not permitted on any trails or in the wilderness. Dogs are allowed to explore picnic spots, highways, and campgrounds, but they must stay within a hundred feet of them. Dog owners should clean up after their pets and bring plenty of water with them, according to the National Park Service. A map of where pets are permitted can be found on Joshua Tree's official website. Year-round, Joshua Tree National Park is open twenty-four hours a day; however, some portions of the park are only open during the day.

Dog areas, children's play equipment, toilets, and a shaded picnic bench are all available at Essig Park in Yucca Valley, CA. The park's dog park is divided into two sections: one for tiny dogs under 25 pounds and another for larger dogs. A drinking fountain for people and a doggie drinking fountain are positioned on both sides of the park, as well as a bench on either side.

Bring Petzooie to Salvation Mountain in Niland, CA, a brightly painted hill that has become a landmark. Leashed dogs are welcome at this work of art in the desert. It's a terrific place to stop on your way to capture some nice Instagram pics of your dog.
