Strawberry Patch Park in Madison, Mississippi is a 7-acre city park. It has a one-mile running trail, a pond where kids can fish, ducks and geese, and a playground. It's across the street from Madison-Ridgeland Academy, at 271 St. Augustine Drive.

Quann Park is largely an off-leash dog park with a 12-court tennis complex that may be reserved. Between Quann and Goodman parks is the Wingra Creek bike trail. Alliant Energy Center has a shared-use agreement with the park, which allows them to use it as overflow parking and event space.

Pets are welcome at Academy Sports Outdoors. This sports goods store, which sells athletic apparel and footwear as well as outdoor gear and fitness equipment, welcomes dogs. Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Academy Sports Outdoors is open.

Mill Creek Dog Park is a 1.43-acre fenced park that runs parallel to the Mill Creek Greenway. It is separated into three sections. The 20-foot-by-30-foot staging area at the park's entrance allows dog owners to let their pets loose before allowing them inside the play areas. The play spaces are divided into two sections: one for tiny dogs weighing less than 25 pounds and another for larger dogs weighing more than 25 pounds. Both pets and humans have access to drinking water, as well as garbage cans and dog waste bag dispensers. There are many shade trees in the region, as well as gently undulating grassy meadows.

Near Indian Creek Greenway is Dog Spot in Creekwood Park. Huntsville has a number of off-leash doggy play facilities known as "Dog Spots." Each is about the size of two football fields and was built with dog safety in mind, including a separate play area for dogs under 25 pounds. Unless otherwise noted, Dog Spots are open to dogs and their owners during standard park hours, which are from sunrise to one hour after dusk.
