Dogs on leashes are welcome to enjoy the park's desert and mountain paths. In 1954, the Maricopa County Park System established the first regional park on these 19,840 acres of desert and mountains. The park has a seasonal wetland or riparian region during our winter and monsoon rains, and is located near the confluence of the Gila and Agua Fria Rivers in the southwest Valley. The majority of the park is still desert, with a topography that resembles that of the earliest settlers and explorers.

Roscoe Dog Park

On 6.5 acres, Roscoe Dog Park is a great spot to let your dog have some off-leash exercise. This is an excellent spot for all dogs, with distinct spaces for passive and active dogs. Throughout the year, the park is open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Water fountains for dogs and humans, picnic tables and seats, a dog run with illumination, trash bags, a double-gate entrance, restrooms, and parking are among the amenities.

Tres Rios Wetlands

Tres Rios Wetlands is a 480-acre emergent wetland that serves as a habitat for a variety of wildlife while also purifying water in a productive and natural manner. Leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their owners on a tour of this fascinating and diverse environment, which is owned and administered by the Phoenix Water Services Department. To visit the wetlands, you'll need a permit. Permits are valid for three months and can be obtained by calling Heather Finden at the number listed. For their own safety and the conservation of the wetlands, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.Because there is no shade, it is preferable to visit the wetlands early in the day during hot months, especially if you have a dog with you. The trail is dirt with tiny pebbles on it. There are no drinking facilities on site, so make sure you and your dog have enough of water.
