Bark Park at James D. Martin Wildlife Park

Pets are welcome in the City of Evergreen Dog Park. This modest, new park is conveniently located off the highway, with some built-in shelter and a pleasant wind from its vantage point on a hill. On your next drive through Evergreen, make a pit stop here. Owners of dogs are reminded to tidy up after their pets.

Popeyes, Starbucks, Hunt Brothers Pizza, a Country Store, and a Travel Store are all located in Petro. This facility features a special area set aside for pets in need of exercise or a rest. For quick cleanup, waste bags and garbage receptacles are also supplied. Pet care products are also available at TA and Petro Travel Stores.

Love's Travel Stop is a dog-friendly gas station and rest stop in Steele, Alabama. Love's Travel Stops are located all throughout the United States and provide facilities for traveling dogs. A completely fenced dog park with a convenient waste station is available at this site.

Germania Springs Dog Park is a fenced dog park adjacent to the children's park and baseball fields of Germania Springs Park. Dogs can also enjoy an obstacle course and water in the dog park.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Chief Ladiga Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an underused railroad track, is now a terrific spot to walk Fido in Anniston! A parking lot with easy access to the Chief Ladiga Trail is shown on the map below.

Albertville's Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater Dog Park is a pet-friendly recreation area. With 16 tennis courts, 14 outdoor turf fields, a 7,500-seat amphitheater, an 8-lane indoor competition pool, an outdoor water park, playgrounds, an RV park, and a 103,000-square-foot community recreation center, this complex is a sports, leisure, wellness, and entertainment venue. A walled dog park divided into two areas, one for large dogs and the other for tiny dogs, is the focus. Remember to clear up any trash that has been left in the park. Monday through Thursday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
