Dogs are permitted in most areas of Cathedral Caverns in Woodville, AL, as long as they are restrained. For safety concerns, several bike and equestrian riding trails do not allow dogs. In stores, food service areas, bathhouses, pools, and swimming areas, dogs are not permitted. Fido cannot be left unsupervised, and if left in a heated car for more than 30 minutes, he will be confiscated. The cave is kept at a warm 60 degrees all year, making it a perfect field trip for schools, churches, and other groups. The park is 493 acres in size, and there are established hiking trails for individuals who wish to get out and about.

Alabama Outdoors welcomes pets. Alabama Outdoors was one of the first stores of its kind in the area when it opened in 1975. This well-known outdoor company sells high-quality outerwear, shoes, and equipment for a variety of outdoor activities, including climbing and hiking. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Alabama Outdoors is open.

83. Horse Creek Trail

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Horse Creek Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Dora!

Fish River Trees Farm welcomes pets. Leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their owners to this tree farm to assist in the selection of the perfect Christmas tree for their home. You'll find something suitable at this well-stocked farm, whether you're looking for a large tree or a little pine. You and your dog can pick a tree every day of the week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the season.

This enclosed dog park, located in the Johnny Henderson Family Park, has distinct sections for large and small dogs to play off leash. People can sit on benches and picnic tables.

Chickasabogue Park is a wildlife refuge and outdoor recreation site with nearly 17 miles of trails and a dog-friendly campground on an area of 1100-acres.

87. Fort Gaines

At Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, AL, dogs are welcome to accompany their owners. "Damn the torpedoes!" is a renowned slogan. The fort has original cannons, a blacksmith shop, kitchens, a museum, gift shop, and tunnels. Leashed dogs are welcome but must be cleaned up after.

88. Florala City Park

Florala City Park in Florala, AL is a dog-friendly park where you may take your leashed dog for a walk along the 1.4-mile route that runs the length of the park and is popular with both pedestrians and bikers. Just make sure Fido is always kept on a leash. Please keep in mind that dogs are not allowed in any of the swimming areas.

89. Lake Lurleen State Park

Lake Lurleen State Park in Coker, Alabama, is a dog-friendly park with more than 23 miles of multi-use trails ranging in difficulty from easy to moderate. Hikers and mountain bikers alike may enjoy the trails that hug the shoreline of Lake Lurleen. A Nature Center, fishing, meeting facilities, paddleboats, swimming, and a beach are all available at the park. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the park if they are on a leash. 90. Geri Moulton Children's Park

This enormous sculpture park on the grounds of USA Children's and Women's Hospital offers broad paved walking routes in a forested environment where leashed dogs are welcome.
