The Nash County Animal Shelter often reunites pets with their families and works to find homes for animals.

The goal of Wayne County Animal Services is to strike a balance between the needs of people and animals in our county in terms of health, safety, and welfare. Through our mission, we hope to: raise awareness of responsible pet ownership among the general public; aggressively look into allegations of animal cruelty; reunite lost pets with their owners; show compassion and humane treatment for unwanted, stray, abused, and abandoned pets in our County; and provide adoptable pets with a second chance at finding a forever home.

 As much as we can, we want to aid animals! Many people who experience unwantedness, unlove, forgetfulness, abuse, and neglect will understand what love is. We take dogs and puppies out of the local shelter.

In the fall of 2006, SandHill Beagles Rescue began operations. The rescue is a North Carolina non-profit as well as a federal 501(c)(3) organization. The rescue's goals are to treat animals humanely and assist in finding them homes that are secure and caring.
